5 must do Activities when visiting Preveza

Preveza is the capital of the Prefecture of Preveza and one of the harbours of Epirus. Geographically, it is situated in a strategic position in the centre of the coastal region of northwestern Greece.
Check out the many Activities you can explore while on your sunny vacation to Preveza:
1. Nicopolis Museum
The museum opened in 2011 to host artefacts from the Roman and Byzantine ears, which were unearthed in the excavations in the vicinity of ancient Nikopolis. It is located just to the north of Preveza town in Epiros, Greece.
The museum is recent (less than 8 years old) and is nicely crafted- be aware that you should combine your tour with a visit to the site (1 km away) to get the full experience; An interesting historical place with plenty of things still to uncover.

2. Eco cruising - Environmental Excursions Private Day Tours
For eco watersports lovers, let Vasilis and Venetia organize a private cruise that can be combined with snorkeling or kite surfing. Other attractions that could be part of a refreshing, nature-filled water-borne tour include the Byzantine Monastery of Koronisia and the medieval castle of Vonitsa. Cruises take place all year round except February and March. Wetlands excursions take place all year, with the best period for birdwatching being the winter months.

3. The Monument of Zalongo
is a 1961 monumental sculpture by George Zongolopoulos, commemorating the Dance of Zalongo. It is located at 700 meters altitude on Mount Zalongo. After climbing up 400 steps you'll be totally out of breathe, but the views of the Ionian Sea and the surrounding mountains will be worth it all.

4. Acheron Canoe Kayak Day Tour
Set off for a timeless journey through verdant forests and crystalline waters on the legendary Acheron River. It’s a route that has been travelled for over two millennia, believed by the ancient Greeks to be the river which the souls of the dead were obliged to pass in order to reach the underworld.
Acheron Kayak invites you to get up close and personal with the river and experience the magical beauty of the wider delta area which still continues to enchant visitors year after year. No prior training is required and explorers of all ages are welcome.

5. Ancient City of Kassiopi (Cassiopeia)
The ancient town of Kassiopi is on the road to the monument of Zalongo. It is built on the edge of a cliff, which dragged down a part of the site when it collapsed. It is considered one of the best remaining examples of a city built along the lines of a Hippodamian plan in Greece.
